I graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2007. I was determined to join the insurance industry as I know that it is a career which I could earn more in a shorter time frame.
To me, there are two important determining factors in this career and they are firstly, to have the right attitude and secondly, to have a good mentor. I went to several companies in the same industry for interviews and I could not find anyone who I feel will be a great mentor to me until I came across Mr Darren Tan from Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®).
As a Financial Services Director, he talks with a great deal of passion and till then, he is the only one who has striked a deep impression on me. At that point, I truly feel that he is the great mentor who I have been looking for and I am still thankful for the fact that he has since, coached and guided me in this wonderful career, even till today, which has been two years since I have joined him.
Through Mr Darren Tan, I came to know more about Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®) and how Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®) can provide the platform for young and inexperienced financial consultants to start their career right and strong. I also came to know of Mr Peter Tan, the chairman of our organisation. Under the leadership of Mr Peter Tan, he always comes up new exciting ideas on conducting our business and he also taught us more than being a financial consultant.
With the guidance of my two mentors and Peter Tan Organisation (PTO®), I have achieved Quality Club, Top Ten Rookie Adviser of the year and I have also hit the A&H challenge, winning myself a trip to Osaka, Japan.
